Morris Family Support

Support the Morris Family

On August 10, 2024, Nathan Morris (35) was shot and killed in his neighborhood in a senseless act of violence. He leaves behind his wife of 10 years and two daughters, ages 5 and 2. As his church family, we are offering our assistance to the family by coordinating a variety of ways to support them in this difficult time. The needs for the family are great and we believe that as a church and as a larger community, we can surround this family with love, prayers and tangible support. Below you will find a current list of the ways you can support this family in the midst of their devastating loss.

Ways to help

Thank you for your support!

Right now, there are three tangible ways to help the Morris family in addition to your prayers:

1. Financial Support

Financial support is the greatest need at this time. The church is coordinating donations for the family. Any fees incurred will be covered by the church and all funds will go directly to the family. You can donate online using the 'Donate' tab above and selecting 'The Morris Family Support Fund' under the fund tab. You can also give via check at the church or via mail (address at the bottom of this page) or in person at worship services or at the office (Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm). Checks must be made out to St. Michael Lutheran with 'Morris Family' in the memo line. Cash donations can be accepted in person as well.

2. Gift Cards for Meals

In this crazy time, planning for meals or dealing with a fridge or freezer full of donated food can be overwhelming. The best way to help is through gift cards to local restaurants, food delivery services etc. Some of the family favorites include: M&M Cafe, Roses and Three Brothers. Gift cards can be given to the church office (Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm).

3. Tangible Assistance

There will be variety of tangible needs for the family at this time, especially work around the house. There are a variety of projects from yard work, to finishing a basement project and more that the family could use help with. If you want to help in a tangible way, simply email the church at the email address at the bottom of this page and let us know the ways that you are able and willing to help.

Thank you for your love and care for the family at this difficult time. We ask that you honor their privacy and give them space to grieve. If you have questions, please contact the church using the information below.
