St. Michael Lutheran Church of Canton, MI is seeking a full time Director of Children’s Ministry (birth-5th grade). We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic leader to rebuild our children’s ministry. We seek someone who loves children, values parents and is passionate about empowering people to serve children and their families. This individual would work closely with our Youth and Family minister as a part of a comprehensive family ministry.
The ideal candidate would have:
- A Robust Faith: An active, growing relationship with Jesus marked by teachability and integrity is essential for this position.
- Love for Children: As the leader of the children’s ministry, a love for children is imperative.
- Enthusiasm and Passion: An enthusiastic, energetic and passionate leader that can inspire and engage the congregation in prayer, service and connection with children and their families.
- Leadership Abilities: The candidate should be capable of leading and managing teams in various programs and ministries to and for children and families. We desire someone who is passionate about equipping others and inviting people into shared ministry.
- Inventive: The ideal candidate would be gifted in building and revamping various aspects of the children’s ministry.
- Highly Relational: We seek a candidate who is gifted at building healthy relationships with children and their parents/guardians.
- Organized: Our hope is to have a candidate who is organized and communicates frequently and well.
- Team Collaboration: The ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, volunteers, and the congregation is crucial for building a strong church community. Effective communication is key for fostering a sense of community among the congregation.
